What we collect

Recast does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Your Anthropic API key is stored locally in your browser only and is never sent to our servers. We have no user accounts, no login system, and no database of user information.

Your content

Content you input (PDFs, text, URLs, topics) is sent directly from your browser to Anthropic's API using your own API key. We never see, store, or process your content. Anthropic's own privacy policy governs how they handle API requests — see anthropic.com/privacy.

Local storage

Recast uses your browser's localStorage to save your generation history. This data never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time using the "Clear all" button in the History tab or by clearing your browser data.

Cookies

Recast does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics. The only browser storage used is localStorage for your local history.

Third-party services

Recast uses the Anthropic Claude API to generate content. When you use the URL input feature, page content is fetched via a public CORS proxy (allorigins.win). No data from these requests is stored by Recast.

Age requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use Recast. By using this service you confirm you meet this requirement.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Continued use of Recast after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

What Recast is

Recast is an AI-powered content repurposing tool that uses Anthropic's Claude API. All content generation is performed by Claude AI. Recast is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Anthropic.

Your API key and costs

You are responsible for providing your own Anthropic API key and for all API usage costs associated with your key. Recast is not responsible for any charges incurred on your Anthropic account.

AI-generated content

All outputs are generated by Claude AI and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or content that requires review. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and deciding whether to publish any AI-generated content. Recast makes no guarantees about the accuracy, quality, or fitness of any output for any particular purpose.

Your content

You retain ownership of all content you input into Recast. You represent that you have the right to use any content you upload or paste, and that doing so does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Recast to generate content that is illegal, harmful, harassing, defamatory, or that violates Anthropic's usage policies. Recast reserves the right to update these terms at any time.

Disclaimer of warranties

Recast is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that the service will meet your specific needs.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Recast and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of revenue, data, or business opportunities.

No refund policy

During the free beta, no payments are collected. When paid plans launch, refund terms will be clearly stated at point of purchase.
